brownies

2 1/3 cups flour
1 cup water
1/2 cup margarine
2/3 cup cocoa
2 cups sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
2.5 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup nuts (optional)

mix 1/3 cup flour with 1 cup water. cook until thick and cool completely. melt margarine. add cocoa and stir until smooth. cool. beat together sugar, salt and vanilla. add to flour mixture, then add cocoa mixture. mix together the rest of the flour and baking powder and add to the above mixture. add nuts now if you want. with wet hands, press into a glad-bake lined 9x13 inch pan, and bake at 180 degrees for 20-30 minutes.
